A recent conversation with a First Nations woman prompted a thought-provoking question about my deep commitment to reconciliation. She observed, “it’s more about them than us,” sparking a reflection on the essence of my dedication.

At the heart of my advocacy is the belief that growth necessitates allies. A vision for Canada, where respect for First Nations Sovereignty is foundational, propels me. It’s about piecing together a nation where collaboration and mutual respect pave the way for a harmonious future. My role, as I see it, is that of a bridge-builder: listening to aspirations, uncovering pathways to realize them, and fostering win-win situations for all involved.

The recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission emerged from extensive community engagements nationwide, echoing the voices of Indigenous people across Canada.
